Plat of Mount Pleasant [Mich.] property, Dow Chemical Company, showing well location, 1918.

Plat showing oil wells, drawn by A.[rthur] Beutel on January 17, 1918 of Union Township, Isabella County (Mich.) Township 14N- Range4W, later the site of Albar oil well, the largest oil well in Michigan. The plat is on cloth and shows the Chippewa River located between tracks of the Pere Marquette Railroad and the Ann Arbor Railroad Company. The map is colored yellow, orange, and gray with a scale of one inch equals 660 feet. The map measures 18 inches x 24 inches. A note on the map reads "Superceded by dwg. [drawing] E2-2623." In 2005 the map was conserved at the Northeast Documentation Conservation Center.

The Ann Arbor Railroad began in 1878. The line began in Toledo, Ohio and ran northwest through Ann Arbor to Frankfort and Elberta, Michigan. It was officially incorporated on September 21, 1895.
